ThermoGourmand Gravy from Scratch

- 40g butter
- 40g plain flour
- 40g white miso paste
- 10g MightyMite or Promite (or Vegemite at a pinch)
- 400g water
- 10g tomato paste
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- large pinch ground black pepper
- Add butter, flour, miso and MightyMite to the Thermomix bowl.
- Cook 3.5 min/100/speed 3.
- Scrape down and add remaining ingredients
- Cook 10 min/100/sp 2.5.
- Serve with your favourite meats.
~ If you're cooking a roast, add the juices from the meat as a part of the water content.
~ Add a pinch of dried or fresh rosemary and some mint sauce for roast lamb or chops.
~ Add a pinch of dried sage for roast pork.
~ Add a pinch of dried thyme for roast beef.
~ Sauté mushrooms and add some Worcestershire sauce, a dash of port and some cream for steak.
Add a good dollop of tomato relish for rissoles.
Add some tomato sauce for meatloaf.
For sausages, add fried onions and American mustard.
