Steamed Meatloaf
- 1 -2 carrots, in chunks
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 - 2 rashers bacon, large dice
- 500g mince - beef, chicken or pork
- 3 Tbsp rolled oats
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable or Meat Stock Paste
- herbs of choice, depending on meat
- 2 - 3 Tbsp chutney, relish, tomato sauce, BBQ Sauce, Sweet Chilli Sauce or tomato paste, depending on meat
- 1 egg
- Add carrot, onion and bacon to bowl.
- Chop 4 sec/sp 5.
- Sauté 4 min/Varoma/sp 1.
- Remove to a large bowl and allow to cool a little.
- Add mince, oats, stock paste, sauce or chutney and egg.
- Mix well and place into a silicone loaf tin that will fit into the Varoma bowl. Or, shape into a log and wrap in baking paper, then foil.
- Rinse bowl and add 1 litre water. Bring to set to 10 min/Varoma.
- Place Varoma bowl and lid on top of Thermomix bowl and steam 45 min/Varoma/sp 2.
- Check after half an hour to ensure there is still sufficient water in the bowl.
- Serve with gravy, roast veggies and greens or serve cold with chutney or relish.
- Great in sandwiches.
