These little treats have been blowing up on social media lately. I couldn’t track down a proper recipe, so I went full mad scientist and made my own. Honestly? It’s pretty awesome—and it’s been saving me from a full-blown chocolate meltdown this Easter, minus the sugar crash!
Chocolate Brownie Bliss Balls

Low refined sugar and high protein. Satisfying the sugar and chocolate cravings.
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp rolled oats
- 200g Medjool dates
- 2 Tbsp nut butter
- 2 heaped Tbsp cocoa
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp protein powder
- 1 Tbsp almond meal
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- TO COAT
- Dark chocolate, melted
- Cacao nibs, coconut, or flaked salt
Method
- Place oats into Thermomix bowl and mill 3 sec/sp 8.
- Add remaining ingredients, excepting coating ingredients bowl and blend 10 sec/sp 8. Scrape down and repeat until smooth.
- Roll heaped teaspoons of mixture into balls and coat in melted chocolate. Sprinkle with cacao nibs, coconut, or flaked salt.
- Makes around 20.
Notes
ADDITIONS:
~ Dried raspberry or strawberry powder
~ Flavoured protein powder.
~ Orange zest and orange oil in place of vanilla. Add a little dash of Cointreau for the adult version.
~ Use hazelnut butter and form balls around a roasted hazelnut – add hazelnut liqueur in place of vanilla for the adult version.
~ Add peppermint essence in place of vanilla. Top with finely chopped peppermint royal mints.
