Not Chicken Tonight Honey Mustard Sauce

A delicious sweet and tangy sauce
Ingredients
- 1 brown onion, peeled and cut into 4
- 20g butter
- 20g light oil
- 2 Tbsp plain flour
- ⅛ - ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 - 2 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise (Cookidoo recipe)
- 100g water
- 1 tsp chicken or vegetable stock paste (Cookidoo recipe)
- 100g sour cream
- salt to taste
Method
- Place onion into Thermomix bowl and chop 5 sec/sp 5.
- Scrape down and add butter and oil.
- Cook 5 min/Varoma/sp 2/MC off.
- Add flour and turmeric and cook a further 2 min/100/sp 2/MC on.
- Add remaining ingredients, except sour cream and cook 10 min/100/sp 2.
- Add sour cream and cook for 2 min/100/sp 2.5/R.
- Test for seasoning.
Notes
Use as a sauce base for Honey Mustard Chicken.
Simply pan fry 500g cubed chicken and add the sauce. Cook gently, stirring occasionally. Add extra water if necessary. Add mixed vegetables or serve separately.
Pour over Chicken Schnitzels, Pork Schnitzels or Corned Beef.
